Agriculture in Nepal
Nepal is agri predominated country consisting of 66% overall population(3 crore approx.) dependency on agriculture. Nepal is still moving on the path of development lacking enough industries for processing of it raw materials. Most of people live in village and they are engaged in basic activities for sustaining their life. These activities involves cultivation of crop, vegetable and fruits. More than 70% of our human resources are involved in agriculture sector and it provide 40% of gross domestic product. Thus agriculture is major sources of living for Nepalese and vital sources of income contributing to country economy.
Despite of being agri nation, country is
backward in its further development. Due to increasing number of people, country agriculture activities is insufficient to fulfill crop requirement to all people. This has causes food crisis in the country and many people are dying due
to starvation, especially in rural part of the country. Below are the chart

Despite of bulk import ,export is very
less. Juice, cardamom, betel nuts, lentils, tea and tobacco are major agro export of
Nepal. Due to this huge trade imbalance, country is suffering from huge economics
loss every year.
Major question is that
what can be solution for agricultural problems of Nepal?
Some general solution related to agri problems are suggested
below:
1. Farmers should be provided with the knowledge of modern farming methology.
2. Sufficient loan need to be given to farmer at cheap interest .
3. Improved seed varieties, fertilizer, insecticides and pesticides should be made timely available.
4. Basic knowledge on food security should be introduced to the curriculum.
5. Establish agro based industries within country.
6. Manage proper market for sale of agriculture crops and agri proceed products.
7. Next thing to do is award high contributor of agriculture in order to motivate all agri workers.
